Our Journey

Every airline has a beginning, and so does Azure Airlines (VA).

What started as a simple idea among aviation enthusiasts has grown into a structured and immersive virtual airline operating within Microsoft Flight Simulator. Our journey has been driven by a passion for realism, community, and continuous improvement.

From our first domestic routes in New Zealand to expanding across the Tasman and launching AzureMiles™, each milestone represents our commitment to building something meaningful for our pilots.

Our History

2023
The Concept Begins

Azure Airlines (VA) was founded by a group of aviation and flight simulation enthusiasts with a shared vision: to create a virtual airline focused on realism, structure, and quality.

2024
Building the Foundation

The airline launched its initial operations, establishing core procedures, defining fleet standards, and introducing domestic routes across New Zealand. Focus was placed on operational realism and immersive pilot experience.

Fleet & Identity Development

Azure Airlines (VA) expanded its fleet with carefully selected aircraft, introduced professional liveries, and refined its brand identity to reflect modern airline standards.

2025
Expansion & Virtual Services

International routes to Australia and beyond were introduced, alongside the launch of AzureMiles™, enhancing engagement through a structured virtual loyalty program.
